Healthy Futures

St. David’s Foundation pledges to strengthen the health and health care for future generations of Central Texans by providing greater educational opportunities in health career fields and by promoting quality health-related research.

St. David’s Foundation’s Healthy Futures focus area is interested in two types of initiatives, those that:

  • Increase health care workforce development by promoting opportunities for the education, training, recruitment, and retention of health care workers, including primary care providers (physicians and mid-level providers), nurses, dentists, pharmacists, and a variety of allied health professionals that are needed in Central Texas.
  • Involve research projects related to our six focus areas, including: oral health initiatives; access to health care and quality of care; behavioral and mental health services; geriatric health issues; general health and wellness, especially related to obesity; and health care workforce.

The Healthy Futures focus area seeks opportunities to invest in the future health of our community. In particular, we are committed to funding programs that support the development of the health care workforce, as well as funding health-related research.
