Who is eligible to apply for a grant?Nonprofit organizations that are exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code and public schools, colleges and universities, with service area in one or more of the following counties: Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson are eligible to apply. Organizational mission and programs must be consistent with the Foundation's mission, goals and programs. To determine whether your organization or program fits one of the Foundation’s focus areas, click here. | What types of funding do you provide?Grants for St. David’s Foundation are made for a variety of purposes, including operating expenses, funding for capital projects, and program support.
The Foundation grants are not intended for: elimination of operating deficits, direct support of individuals, loans, cost of individual healthcare, clinical trials of drugs or devices, for-profit organizations, programs that exclude participants on the basis of race or religion, or support of political agendas or candidates. | How do I apply?Proposals for grant awards are accepted by invitation only. First, determine if your organization is eligible to apply and your proposal falls within one of our focus areas (see Question #1). Next, contact the appropriate Program Officer based on the focus of the particular project or program by clicking here. Organizations should be prepared to provide a one page summary of the organization and project. | Do you fund projects outside of Central Texas?The Foundation focuses its funds on projects that improve the health of the people in the Central Texas area, which includes Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties. | What is the average size and duration of grants?Amounts awarded vary and depend on the scope of the project. Grants are typically awarded for a 12 month period. | What are the deadlines for submitting proposals?Healthy Aging proposals are due July 15th, and grants are awarded in December.
Healthy Futures proposals for health care workforce development are due January 15th, and grants are awarded in June.
Healthy Living proposals are due January 15th, and grants are awarded in June.
Healthy Minds proposals are due January 15th, and grants are awarded in June.
Healthy People proposals are due July 15th, and grants are awarded in December. | When and how will I know if my proposal has been accepted or rejected?The Program Officer overseeing your grant will communicate the status of your grant request throughout the review process. | Will Foundation staff or board members do a site visit as part of the evaluation process?Site visits often occur as part of the grant review process.
