2007 Grants

Recipients are organized according to the Foundation's program areas: Physical Health - Clinic-Based Services , Mental Health, Services for Older Adults, and Services for Other Special Populations.

Physical Health - Clinic-Based Services
El Buen Samaritano: Funded general operating expenses for clinic

Lone Star Circle of Care: Supported clinic's primary care services for the uninsured and under-insured in Williamson County.  Funding will provide for more then 5,000 additional encounters.

People's Community Clinic: Supported general clinic operations and special projects (Chronic Disease Management, Immunization Program, Practice Management Improvements, Continuing Education and Training).

Round Rock Health Clinic: Supported uninsured patient program.

Samaritan Health Ministries: Supported primary health care services, including acute medical care, medications and dental services.

U.T. School of Nursing: Children's Wellness Center in Del Valle: Supported the community health nurse and social worker at the Children’s Wellness Center. Also supported staff and student stipends, supplies, translation assistance, and data entry needs for a collaborative immunization program with People’s Community Clinic.

U.T. School of Nursing: Family Health Clinic: Funded clinic operations for a new Family Practice Clinic.

Volunteer Healthcare Clinic: Funded the clinic’s non-emergency walk-in clinic services and its chronic disease management services.

Mental Health
Any Baby Can: Supported bilingual counseling services for families with special health care needs.

Austin Child Guidance Center: Supported expansion of children’s psychological services unit, including evaluations and consultation services.

Austin Recovery: Supported capital campaign for facility expansion.

Breakthrough: Funded counseling services to low-income students.

Capital Area Mental Health Center: Funded expansion of counseling program.

Communities In Schools-Central Texas: Funded school-based counseling and intervention services to at-risk middle school students.

FamilyConnections: Supported counseling and other services for women affected by postpartum depression.

Family Crisis Center: Supported school-based individual counseling for children and youth exposed to violence.

Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center: Funded counseling for victims of family violence and sexual assault.

Interagency Support Council of East Williamson County: Funded school-based counseling and case management services to at-risk students.

Leander ISD: Funded school-based counseling services to at-risk students.

Lone Star Circle of Care: Funded mental health services that are integrated into the primary care clinic.

People’s Community Clinic: Funded mental health services that are integrated into the primary care clinic.

SafePlace: Supported counseling services for youth, women and men who have been hurt by sexual and domestic violence.

Samaritan Center for Counseling and Pastoral Care: Supported counseling services for low-income individuals.

SIMS Foundation: Supported evaluation and treatment services for musicians and their families.

Waterloo Counseling: Funded counseling services to low-income individuals.



Services for Older Adults
Aging Services Council of Central Texas: Supported the publishing and broadcasting of bi-lingual public service announcements that will direct Travis County residents to the transportation referral service provided by 2-1-1 Texas.

Austin Groups for the Elderly: Supported Elderhaven Adult Day Care Center and Caregiver Resource Center.

Faith in Action Caregivers (formerly Partners in Caregiving): Supported continued delivery of services to older adults that enhanced their access to primary care, health promotion, and preventive health care.

Family Eldercare: Subsidized the delivery of a continuum of care services for low and moderate-income older adults in four programs: 1) Consultation and Service Coordination; 2) In-Home Care and Respite; 3) Guardianship and Bill Payer Services; 4) Lyons Gardens Senior Community. Also supported Family Eldercare's capital campaign for a new facility.

Greater Austin Collaboration for Alzheimer's Respite and Enrichment Services (CARES): Supported the new Collaboration as it begins to enhance the operations of existing faith-based respite programs and develops new programs.

Meals on Wheels and More: Supported coordination of volunteers and delivery of meals and services to people in need.

New Connections: Supported early intervention program for patients with Alzheimer's Disease.

Round Rock Area Serving Center: Supported the increase of food assistance and financial assistance for rent, utilities, and prescriptions for the elderly.

Williamson-Burnet County Opportunities, Inc.: Funded meals provided by its Meals on Wheels program and capital improvements for the Meals on Wheels program.

Services for Other Special Populations
AISD Vision and Hearing Program: Funded vision screening machines and administrative support for financial aid applications.

Austin Children's Shelter: Supported the Shelter’s capital campaign for a new building at a new location.

Breast Cancer Resource Center: Supported the Peer to Peer Core Program.

Children's Hearing Aid Texas: Funded hearing aids and related services.

Easter Seals - Central Texas: Supported the Medical Rehabilitation Sliding Fee Scale Project that provides no- or low-cost medical and rehabilitation to children aged 3 to 18 with disabilities.

Tandem Project: Supported teen prenatal and parenting program

Wonders & Worries: Supported the expansion or individual and group support services for children with a chronic illness.

Youth InterActive: Funded the Adaptive Sports Program's Super Sports Saturday and the development of the Adapted Sports curriculum.
